My passion for photography began at a young age. I remember being in line at the grocery store with my parents flipping through Time Magazine’s the Year in Pictures and being captivated by the content in National Geographic when at the library. Eventually, through my involvement in sports, my favorite photos from Sports Illustrated and ESPN the magazine became the wallpaper for my bedroom. Travel magazines then began to entice me as I grew older and got bit by the travel bug. Fortunately, through my travels, I’ve been able to experience some of the best things that this world has to offer. But my photos did not nearly reveal what I’d seen with my own eyes. That frustrated me and inspired me. Suddenly there was a shift and I began to look at everything differently, searching for photo opportunities everywhere. My work and life experiences have shaped me too. I’m drawn to the subtle beauty of frost on leaves, the raw power of an American military jet and the conflict between the agonizing last second loss on one side of the field and the thrill of the victory on the other. You’ll see on my website that there is an emphasis on sports because I believe that sports are a microcosm of life and they've always been a passion of mine. And I think I do more than take action photos at sporting events. I bring the viewer into the stadium, onto the field and into the room. I love capturing people being themselves, in the moment, through candid photos too. My constant pursuit to improve my photography has been so fruitful in several ways. I was once asked in an inteview what my greatest weakness was. My answer was, "I hate to disappoint people." Through photography I combine my passion, life experiences and work ethic and won't be satisfied with the results until you are.
